Science 2/1

"Hmmmmm, How can I tell Mista Meehan about my kickin’ experiment?  Hey I know I can write an abstract!"

An abstract is a way for scientist to communicate their lab work quickly to their colleagues, usually in a journal or magazine.  So you are kind of writing a snap shot of your lab work.  In this case, tell me about your discoveries during this investigation (how does force affect motion or F=ma).  Your statement should answer (or show me) the following:
o What it is you investigated
o How you investigated
o The data and results (show your graph)
o Did your lab work answer your question and if so, how (prove it)

FCAs Writing an abstract:
FCA # 1: Written scientifically (talk about the car, track and experiment). No personal pronouns!
FCA # 2: Using data properly in your writing
