Your responsibilities
§ Treat your peers and me with respect, dignity, and care as individuals
§ Attend classes regularly, on time, and in your seat, ready to work when class starts
§ Cooperate, share, and be enthusiastic about our learning community
§ Study and complete all assignments to the best of your ability
§ Master the required content
Materials Needed
§ 3-ring binder (2” max)
§ Paper
§ Dividers
§ Pencils
§ A red grading pen
§ Dry erase markers
§ Colored pencils
§ Pencil sharpener
Other must haves…
§ Assignments and materials requested by teacher
§ Agenda
§ A positive attitude
We Allow …
§ Every person will be given time or the opportunity to express their opinions.
§ PLEASE do not talk when instructor or fellow classmates are sharing/discussing ideas.
We Allow…
§ You are free to get up from your seat to return materials, get tissues, throw things away/recycle, sign out to bathroom…
§ Please try to do these things during work time and NOT instruction

§ You are allowed to go to your locker at the assigned times…
§ Top lockers before D
§ Bottom lockers after D

§ Nuisance items:
§ Candy (unless it was earned from teacher)

§ Behavior
§ Teacher Redirects, “Conduct Warning”, Call Home, Email check ins
§ Be especially good for substitutes!

§ If absent or forgot it, you will be able to print it
§ It will also have helpful hints from me and hopefully your peers

§ Tests

§ About 1-2 per trimester
§ About 35% of your grade
§ Usually I give 1 week advance warning
§ About 40 to 50 questions including matching, multiple choice, and open response

Quizzes
§ Approximately 1 every week
§ About 25% of your grade
§ No advance notice (usually every Friday)
§ Generally 10 questions of matching and multiple choice

Daily Homework
§ Usually assigned 3-4 times a week
§ No weekends
§ Rarely over 20 minutes is expected
§ Written on Agenda board and maintained by your agenda and blog
§ Graded as complete, incomplete, unacceptable, etc…
§ About 20% of your grade
Graded Assignments
§ Occasionally assigned usually with extended time to complete
§ Projects, writings, enrichment, etc…
§ About 10% of your grade
Participation
§ About 10% of your grade
§ Not just how much you say in class
§ How well you engage in group work, partner work, etc…
§ How well you use your binder, agenda, and blog
§ Effort and Assessment evaluated

  5. i think you copy the expectations sheet onto a blank word document then have your parents sign it.....i think we have to sign it too.
