Monday's English Homework (9/14)

Choose ONE Discussion Question from the Watson's Chapters 1-5 list you got in class today.  They must:


1.  Be typed.  If you do not have access to a computer or yours is not working, just bring in a note from home signed by your parents.  If your printer is not working, just attach it as a document and sent it to me at school.  My email address is:  kgreene@mpsd.org

2.  Be at least a 1/2 page long

3.  In 12-point font

    #1 The story is told from 10- year Kenny's point of view. How does this make the story more interesting? Include 2 specific details from story.
    #2 Kenny's brother Byron Likes to bully other kids in school. One time however he gets himself into some trouble. Do you think getting his lips struck to the window he was in some way being paid back for the mean things he did to other kids? If your answer is no you obviously won't choose this one.
    #3 In chapter 2 two new kids from the south show up at school. Why does Kenny consider it a miracle? Try to imagine yourself in Kenny's shoes?Do you think you might feel the same way he did.Include 2 specific details from story.
    #4 A lot of the story so far revolves around bullying. Who are the bullies and who are the ones who get bullied? A. Talk about why you think certain people picked on other people.
    B. What do you think is the best way to deal with a bully or being bullied.
    #5 Talk abou the ups and downs of the relationship between Kenny and Rufus so far in the story? Include 2 specific details from story.
